Buses will begin serving the Sainsbury's superstore at Altira Business Park, Broomfield from Sunday.
Bus operator Stagecoach confirmed that its route 6 buses will divert into the Business Park offering a half hourly service to and from the Sainsbury's superstore throughout the day. On Sundays and Bank Holidays 'Triangle' buses will call in every hour. Passengers can travel between Greenhill and Herne Bay or Sturry and Herne to the new bus stop right outside the superstore.
Matthew Arnold, Stagecoach Commercial Director said, "We're pleased we can now provide Altira Park with a regular bus service. Route 6 will call in every 30 minutes on Mondays to Saturdays and Triangle buses every hour on Sundays. This will offer a convenient connection for people in the Greenhill and Herne Bay area as well as those living in Herne and Sturry who want to use the new superstore."
The bus company say they are looking at making further adjustments to the local bus network which could bring additional buses to the Business Park later this year.
Heather Bennett, Sainsbury's Herne Bay Store manager said, "We're delighted that buses will now be making it even easier for customers to shop at our store."
The superstore, which opened earlier this year, offers a cafe, Argos and Specsavers in addition to the main shopping store.
Full bus times are available on the Stagecoach website at stagecoachbus.com.
Route 6 (between Canterbury and Greenhill) and Triangle buses (on Sundays) will regularly serve the Sainsbury's Superstore seven days a week.
