Changes to Stagecoach gold announced for the New Year

09 Dec 2014

  • Revised timetable will be introduced from 19th January 2015
  • Sunday service will be increased to run every hour
  • Dartmouth connection replaced by X64 Exeter to Dartmouth service

Stagecoach South West confirmed today, 9 December, that it will be introducing revisions to its flagship Gold service in the New Year. The changes will start from 19th January 2015 and will see the Sunday timetable between Torquay and Plymouth increase to every hour.

This change reflects that the majority of passengers using Gold travel between Torquay, Totnes and Plymouth – a trend which has already prompted the operator to increase  the Monday to Saturday frequency along this corridor to up to every half an hour.

Michael Watson, Managing Director of Stagecoach South West, commented “Since it launched, over a million passengers have already ‘gone Gold’ and, in a recent passenger survey1, 100% would travel with us again and recommend us to a friend. I’m therefore delighted that, once again, we’re able to introduce even more improvements to the route.”

For services between Totnes and Dartmouth, customers will be able to connect onto the X64 service, which will provide direct connections between Dartmouth, Totnes, Newton Abbot and Exeter.

In Totnes, Gold will no longer serve Dukes Road however connections will still be available a short walk away from Higher Westonfields. Alternatively, local community transport operator, Bob the Bus, operates along Dukes Road.
