Stagecoach South West confirmed today, 14 March, seats on the South West Falcon coach service are now available to book through megabus.com.

The South West Falcon, connecting Devon with Somerset and Bristol, launched less than a month ago and is already proving popular with commuters, leisure travellers, shoppers, students and Bristol Airport customers. The introduction of online booking will further enhance the service, providing reassurance for customers who want to plan their journeys and get the best deal by booking ahead.

Managing Director of Stagecoach South West, Bob Dennison, commented, “Some of our customers – especially those with onward connections – have told us that they would like the reassurance of having pre-booked their seats. I’m therefore delighted to confirm our partnership with megabus.com and hope this will encourage even more people to fly the South West Falcon.”

Liz McNaughton, Commercial Manager for Bristol Airport, added, “It’s fantastic passengers flying from the airport can now book seats on the Falcon, further enhancing the options for getting to and from this busy regional hub.”

megabus.com was launched in the UK in 2003 and revolutionised coach travel by offering fares from just £1 (plus 50p booking fee) via a simple online booking system. megabus.com carries more than 15 million passengers a year across Europe and North America and offers French, Italian, German, English, Spanish and Dutch language websites.

Edward Hodgson, Managing Director of megabus.com said “ We are pleased to be playing our part in helping people access good travel links by adding great value South West Falcon seats to Europe’s leading low-fares coach provider’s site megabus.com.”

Customers booking via megabus.com will be able to buy tickets online from as little as £1 (plus 50p booking fee). Alternatively, customers can still ‘turn up and go’ at the bus stop and buy their ticket direct from the driver in cash and at the normal price. For regular commuters, season tickets are available online at swfalcon.com and from their driver.

Stagecoach has also launched a dedicated twitter account for the coach brand - @flyswfalcon.  As well as service update news, the account will feature exclusive news and offers for Falcon customers.

Stagecoach launched the South West Falcon on 14th February. The eight brand new Falcon coaches represent a £2.5 million investment by Stagecoach. All feature free Wi-Fi as well as air conditioning, leather seats and charging sockets. The Falcon runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.2
