World Oceans Day 2021

For World Oceans Day, we’re taking you to our top 10 beaches across the South West. From the Jurassic Coast to the English Riviera, our buses serve some of the cleanest and prettiest beaches in England.   

According to Surfers Against Sewage and thanks to the Million Mile Clean, our oceans are considered the safer seas of choice with no current pollution incidents in place.  In the South West, we have beach cleans organised in Exmouth, Sidmouth and Torbay. Anyone can register to join or create a new clean here.

Sidmouth Beach 

Regarded the gateway of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, Sidmouth town beach is clean, accessible and surrounded by red-hued cliffs. Our 9 and 9A buses serve Sidmouth.

Paignton Sands Beach

 
With a sandy beach, safe swimming and numerous activities to enjoy, Paignton Sands is the perfect family day out. Our GOLD bus serves Paignton.

Wildersmouth Beach, Ilfracombe  
 
Wildersmouth Beach, once a popular bay for smugglers, is now a peaceful and sheltered cove with shingle and sand. Our 21 and 21A buses serve Ilfracombe, just a short walk from Wildersmouth Beach.

Croyde Bay 

With west-facing beach breaks and low tides, Croyde Bay is the surfing capital of Devon. Expect to find a variety of places offering surfing equipment and lessons. Our 21 and 21A buses serve Croyde Bay.

Dawlish Beach 

Dawlish town beach, a mixture of sand and shingle, is just a short walk from the hustle and bustle of the town centre. Our 2 and 2B buses service Dawlish.

Torre Abbey Sands, Torquay  

One of the English Riviera’s busiest beaches, Torre Abbey Sands is famous for its vast expanse of sand and adjacent meadow. Our GOLD bus serves Torquay.

Putsborough Sands, Georgeham 

Set on the south side of Woolacombe beach, Putsborough Sands is a family favourite with golden sands, clean water and rock pools. Our 21 and 21A buses serve David’s Hill, Georgeham - just a short walk from Putsborough Sands.
