The popular Coastliner700 route now offers more buses, more seats and a brand new to grace the shores of Sussex and Hampshire. The route, popular with tourists and commuters, will now feature a fleet of 12 brand new eco-friendly double deck buses with a brand new design.

The new vehicles are in response to customer demand, many of whom have been eager to see more double-deckers on the route. Stagecoach have invested over £2m in the vehicles which will all feature free WiFi, perfect for commuters that want to take back some of their day.

Mark Turner, Regional Commercial Director for Stagecoach was joined by Worthing's Deputy Mayor, Councillor Michael Donin, at a special launch ceremony in Marine Parade, Worthing.

Mark said "These additional double deck buses are being introduced to the Coastliner 700 service to provide additional capacity which reflects the increase in passengers.

We hope to encourage even more people to try the bus for a relaxing journey, with more comfortable seating, free WiFi, not to mention the great value tickets we offer for regular travellers."

Coastliner 700 provides a commuter and leisure service along the South Coast between Brighton, Worthing, Littlehampton, Bognor Regis, Chichester & Portsmouth. The service has been running for nearly 40 years and usage has continually grown with more than 4 million passengers each year using the service.

The 12 new buses will be the first to showcase the striking new Coastliner 700 livery which has recently been revitalised to co-incide with the launch of new fleet.

Worthing's Deputy Mayor, Councillor Michael Donin said “I believe that the introduction of these 12 new environmentally friendly buses to serve the people travelling along the coast will be a great asset and provide these residents with a much improved service”.
