A magnificent team of around 25 ladies based at Stagecoach's Worthing and Chichester depots will be exchanging uniforms for sportswear to raise cash for Cancer Research UK.
The Stagecoach women are one of several all-female teams getting set to take on the charity's 'Race for life' event in Worthing on Sunday 19th June. The 5k course starts from Steyne Gardens and follows the promenade, providing beautiful ocean scenes along the way.
Stagecoach participant and organiser Michelle Stanbridge said "I wanted to do this event because it raises money for a good cause and it's fun as well. I have been overwhelmed by the support from my colleagues who are also taking part"
Stagecoach are also launching a pink bus in support of the charity. The 73 seater double decker will be present on the day of the event, and will be located in Steyne Gardens. The bus will soon become a popular sight when it will be used on the main Coastliner 700 route between Arundel and Brighton.
Maria Muggridge, Assistant Operations Manager at the Worthing depot said: "“Most of us have been affected by cancer or know of someone who has. We wanted to do something to create further awareness of the Cancer Research UK campaign and have decided to dedicate a special pink livery to such a great cause'
Maria added "It's great to have so many of our female staff taking part in the Race for Life event and I think it's been good for morale at work as well'
During the event, Stagecoach would wish to advise customers that diversions will be in place on the Pulse and Coastliner 700 bus routes.
