Stagecoach announce diversion plans for Basingstoke buses due to road closures around Winton Square
**Diversion in place until further notice**
Stagecoach has announced plans to temporarily change the routes on a number of its Basingstoke town bus services, owing to a major roadworks scheme.
Starting from Monday 5th March 2018, roadworks will begin in the Winton Square area of the town, and are in place until further notice.
Throughout the duration of the works, Stagecoach will be diverting all of it bus routes that run along either Worting Road or Winchester Road.
Service 1 towards Brighton Hill and service 3b towards South Ham will divert via Churchill Way West and Ringway West to Winchester Road roundabout in both directions.
Service 3 and service 4 towards South Ham will divert via Churchill Way West to West Ham roundabout, then Worting Road to Sandys Road roundabout into Sandys Road where normal service will resume.
Service 11 towards Oakley and service 76 towards Andover will divert via Churchill Way West to West Ham roundabout.
A Shuttle bus will provide a service for Worting Road & Winchester Road customers, running every 30 minutes between 0730 and 1830, on weekdays and 0830 and 1800
Jayson Smith, Operations Manager for Stagecoach in Basingstoke, said: “Unfortunately the location of the road works has a major impact on the routing of our services at the top end of town. As a result we have worked hard to make sure that customers who rely on our local services are still able to travel with us with as little disruption as possible.
The provision of a shuttle bus will help us maintain a service for customers in Worting Road and Winchester Road."
