Stagecoach West Scotland is simplifying bus travel with the launch of single and return tickets available to buy via the Stagecoach Bus App.
Customers in Ayrshire were the first in the UK to pilot the new ticketing scheme, which was rolled out in April. The pilot was limited to Irvine bus services and following the success, the pilot has been extended to Kilmarnock.
Stagecoach is actively encouraging passengers to transition to the Stagecoach Bus App, the move aims to minimise the environmental footprint from paper tickets and speed up boarding times.
In addition to purchasing tickets, the Stagecoach Bus App is ideal for those who have never travelled by bus, users can easily plan a journey, find their closest bus stop, and track their bus in real time. To further support this initiative, the Stagecoach team will be hosting pop-up events across Irvine and Kilmarnock and will be travelling on board local services, supporting customers with any questions and demonstrating how to download the app.
Fiona Doherty, Managing Director, Stagecoach West Scotland said: “We have a clear focus to enhance our customer experience and simplify the use of our bus services. The recent rollout of single and return tickets via the Stagecoach Bus App demonstrates how we are helping our customers move to a digital offering.
“Our team have been out in Irvine helping customers with the new app-based ticket options. We hope customers are finding the app useful and we are listening to all the feedback from customers using the app for the first time as well as from those who have been using the app for a while. We are committed to offering a fully inclusive range of products and customers who may not have a smartphone will still be able to purchase single or return tickets direct from our drivers.”
For those using Kilmarnock services 3, 6, and 7, Stagecoach Bus App tickets can provide a convenient way to reach your destination. Visit stagecoachbus.com for more information.
