In line with the latest government guidance, we've put in place further measures in England to help customers practice social distancing. This includes limiting the available seats on buses.

Face coverings are compulsory when using public transport in England and Scotland. In Wales it is compulsory to wear a three layer face covering on public transport. It is also now compulsory to wear face coverings when using indoor public transport hubs in England only.

Students on course for cheaper bus travel

Sheffield Hallam University and University of Sheffield students can save on travel costs next term with a special Stagecoach ticket. 

For the new university term, which runs from 16 January to 29 March 2015, students can buy a Stagecoach bus only ticket for £65, a tram only ticket for £77 or a bus and tram ticket for £99. 

Students can use their Unirider ticket to travel as often as they like between the dates printed on the ticket on all routes in Sheffield.

They can also buy a £7 student weekly bus only megarider on any Stagecoach bus in the city for travel within the same boundaries as the Sheffield Unirider.

Paul Lynch, managing director at Stagecoach Yorkshire, said: “Our Unirider makes travelling around Sheffield easier and more cost effective for students. It’s a great way to save students money and with a variety of options available, we have a range of tickets to suit students on all budgets and routes.”
