Stagecoach Yorkshire has announced it is working in conjunction with South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (SYPTE) to maintain a number of Barnsley bus services previously operated by Tates Travel - routes 8/8a, 23, 24, 34/34a and 92, after SYPTE confirmed the bus company had ceased operations.
Stagecoach has introduced some timetable changes to ensure it can serve as many communities as possible. Service 92 will run to Millhouse Green, with some journeys extending to Crow Edge. The service to Holmfirth is provided by service 25. Service 23 will run directly between Penistone and Stocksbridge via Cubley.
Paul Lynch, managing director of Stagecoach Yorkshire, said: “I’m proud of the way our staff have responded to this situation and enabled us to act very quickly to maintain these links for passengers.
We’ll now take the opportunity to assess these services before making any further changes”.
Service information and timetables can be found at stagecoachbus.com. Passengers are advised to keep checking the Stagecoach website for up to date service information.
