Hoppy Easter! Stagecoach bunny delivers 200 eggs to poorly children

Children in Sheffield have received a special surprise this Easter thanks to Stagecoach Yorkshire.

Stagecoach staff in Sheffield collected more than 200 Easter eggs which they have donated to The Children’s Hospital Charity.

The Ecclesfield and Holbrook depot staff dug deep and donated all 200 eggs, which were delivered to the hospital by Ralfie, the Stagecoach Easter bunny.

The charity supports Sheffield Children’s Hospital by funding specialist equipment, research into the prevention and cure of childhood illnesses, new facilities to extend the range of treatment provided and improvements to the hospital environment.

Tchad Western, corporate fundraiser at The Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “Unfortunately some children are too poorly to go home at Easter but being able to give them an Easter Egg on Easter Sunday brings a smile to their faces, helping distract them from their treatment.

“With Stagecoach’s help, we now have enough Easter Eggs to go around all the children so if anyone else is interested in helping, we can accept Bunny Money which will go to our play specialists to help make it better through Easter craft kits and other play distraction techniques. Simply go to Just Giving and search for Bunny Money.”

John Young, Stagecoach Yorkshire commercial director, said: “We are very proud to support The Children’s Hospital Charity and have been overwhelmed by the kindness of our Sheffield staff.

“The hospital does brilliant work for sick children in the Sheffield City Region and we hope these 200 eggs will help put a few smiles on faces this Easter.”
