The Christmas season is upon us once again, bringing with it a great selection of Christmas inspired markets which offer heaps of new foods to try and gift ideas for the whole family. Our handy guide below shows you where to head for some festive fun and just how easy you can get around by bus.
Leeds’ 'Christkindelmarkt' is one of the biggest and most established Christmas markets in the UK, featuring traditional, wooden chalet-style stalls and cosy indoor hideaways. With over 40 stalls and a number of places to relax and refresh, including the Ski Hutte bar with its “apres-ski inspired ambience” and the Kuh Stall which has a real log fire and a snug space to unwind and try a traditional German sausage!
Thousands of eager shoppers descend on Leeds each year for their renowned Christmas market, so if you are travelling from Barnsley, avoid the chaos of the traffic and the hassle of parking by taking our brand new X10 service! From Wednesday the 15th of November right up until Christmas Eve, the Christmas market will once again arrive in Sheffield, featuring over 50 stalls and of course, Santa’s grotto where your little ones can meet the man himself – Santa Claus! Setting up camp in the iconic Peace Gardens, the Sheffield Christmas market is the place to go if you are looking for decorative gifts and handmade trinkets, or if you are in the mood to try some of the many treats and delicacies on offer and then relax in the Sleigh Bar with a glass of mulled wine.

The Christmas market might only be visiting Wakefield for a few short days, but it has lots to offer, so make the most of it while you can! From food and drink, to clothing, cosmetics and jewellery to unique decorations for your home and garden; it’s well worth a trip. It lands on Friday the 24th of November, sticking around until just the 26th, so plan your travel in advance to make sure you don’t miss out!
