National lockdown restrictions are in place across England. Until 2 December, you should only travel for work, education or other permitted reasons. From 2 December England will be returning to a 3 Tier System. Find out more about local restrictions.
A tiered system of protection levels is in operation across Scotland. So, if you need to travel, make sure you're up-to-date with what's happening in your area by checking the local government guidance.
We've put in place measures to allow you to travel safely including limiting available seats on buses and enhanced cleaning. Unless you’re exempt, you must wear a face covering throughout your journey. Please avoid busy times, use contactless payment where you can, keep your distance and take your litter with you. On Thursday 14 and Sunday 17 September, Supertram ran special services to raise money for the Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity.
Thursday was the first time our new Citylink vehicles, which will be used on the tram train service to Rotherham and Parkgate when it is launched next year, carried members of the public.
Instead of paying a tram fare, our customers were asked to donate what they felt appropriate while on board a brand new Citylink vehicle, which was the first of our vehicles ever to be named.
The tram has been called Theo after the Sheffield children's hospital charity's mascot. With your support, we raised a fantastic £1,154 for the charity!
A huge thank you to everyone who boarded the tram and donated, there were even a few people who put money into the buckets at tram stops and didn’t even get on!
The money raised from this event will help the charity transform the lives of young patients who travel from all over the world for treatment at Sheffield Children's Hospital. World-class care with world-class equipment and facilities will benefit children for generations to come.
