93% of Stagecoach bus customers throughout Chesterfield and North Derbyshire are satisfied with their journeys, according to independent research by consumer watchdog Transport Focus, one of the highest results in the UK.
Passengers travelling with Britain’s biggest bus and coach operator recorded extremely high levels of satisfaction across a number of areas including the safety of driving, driver appearance and value for money.
The results follow continued significant investment by Stagecoach in new low emissions buses and new technology.
Stagecoach Yorkshire Managing Director Matt Davies said: “We have always valued the feedback of our customers, and so we are thrilled to hear that the survey results reflect the high level of service that our staff deliver consistently for their local community. We are very proud of these results and to carry some of the most satisfied customers in the UK.
“The survey also helps highlight areas that we can continue to work on, however to tackle some of the issues affecting services and we are calling on local authorities to assist. The impact of car congestion is damaging local air quality, slowing bus journey speeds and pushing up the cost of transport for local people and can negatively impact the perception of the value of bus travel.”
Stagecoach has made a series of improvements to help transform bus travel for customers, including continued investment in new, greener vehicles, the introduction of contactless payments on all buses, smart, integrated ticketing schemes and a greater focus on customer service through the delivery of more convenient purchasing options and better customer information.
