Stagecoach improving vital links to Hospital and Markham Vale

21 Oct 2019

Stagecoach has announced changes to some bus services in Chesterfield, creating new links and improving punctuality from Sunday 27th October 2019.

In a bid to improve links for Chesterfield residents to vital services and employment opportunities, Stagecoach has announced changes to some key services in the town.

A new cross town service 1 and 1a will be introduced, improving access to Chesterfield Royal Hospital for residents of Newbold, Bolsover, Hillstown and Langwith with buses running up to every 15 minutes Monday to Friday, up to every 20 minutes on Saturdays and up to every 30 minutes in the evening and on Sundays.

This new cross town service also gives customers improved access to the busy employment hub at Markham Vale.

John Young, Stagecoach Yorkshire commercial director, said: “We are excited to be improving connectivity into Chesterfield and the surrounding area to allow our customers improved and easier access to vital services including employment hubs, the hospital and retail outlets.

We also know how important punctuality is to our customers and we are committed to providing the best service we can. We regularly use customer feedback to help improve our service.”

“We’re hoping that these service enhancements will help make getting to appointments, work and leisure activities easier for our customers.”
