Supertram Rail replacement 4 May to June 2020

In partnership with the South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (SYPTE) essential work to replace worn rail will start on Monday 4 May. The first area of work will take place in the Hackenthorpe and Donetsk Way areas meaning that the Blue Route service can only operate as far as Birley Lane. No Supertram services will run between Birley Moor Road and Halfway.

Alternative Travel Options

Customers can use bus service 120 as an alternative, which travels between Halfway and the City Centre or service 80a which operates between Birley Moor Road and the city centre. Further information about the Rail Replacement scheme and alternative bus services will be available at www.travelsouthyorkshire.com/RailReplacement from Monday 27 April. Tram only tickets

To help provide valuable travel options to key workers at this time we will accept Stagecoach Tram Only tickets on our buses in Sheffield. Please note – The bus must be travelling in areas where the tram runs and the following conditions apply:

Tram Only tickets can only be used to make similar bus journeys to those normally taken on the tram. The ticket is not valid for journeys beyond these areas where the final destination could not be reached by tram.

Tram Only ticket must be valid and normal terms apply.

 

The Purple timetable will also change during these works.

 

Please note that dates may change as the works progress.

 Trams will operate the normal route Meadowhall - Middlewood on the current revised timetable

Trams will operate the normal route Herdings Park - Cathedral on a new revised timetable

Trams will operate the normal route Parkgate - Cathedral on the current revised timetable
