In line with the latest government guidance, we've put in place further measures in England to help customers practice social distancing. This includes limiting the available seats on buses.
Face coverings are compulsory when using public transport in England and Scotland. In Wales you must wear a 3 layer face covering on public transport and put it on before travelling unless you are exempt. It is also now compulsory to wear face coverings when using indoor public transport hubs in England only.

In partnership with the South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (SYPTE), the fourth area of the Rail Replacement Project will start on Tuesday 15th September to replace rail between Crystal Peaks and Elcroft Gardens. During this time, trams cannot operate beyond Donetsk Way.
Trams will operate between Malin Bridge – Donetsk Way on a new revised timetable between 15 September and 2 October and on 3 and 4 October
Tram Replacement Bus Service: Operated on behalf of the South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive by Stagecoach Yorkshire, the BL3 will run between Halfway and Birley Moor Road tram stops. More information on the BL3 is available on the Travel South Yorkshire website.
Trams will operate the normal route Meadowhall - Middlewood to the normal timetable, except for Saturday 19 & Sunday 20 and Saturday 26 & Sunday 27 September when a temporary revised timetable will operate
Purple Route Trams will operate the normal route between Herdings Park - Cathedral on a new revised timetable
Tram Train will operate the normal route Parkgate - Cathedral on the current revised timetable.
Due to essential track bed maintenance between Cathedral and Hillsborough trams are unable to operate between Middlewood/ Malin Bridge and Cathedral on the two weekends above. More information on the tram service can be found on the timetables shown above.

To help provide valuable travel options to key workers at this time, Tram Only tickets will be accepted on Stagecoach buses in Sheffield.
• The bus must be travelling in areas where the tram runs and the following conditions apply.
• Tram Only tickets can only be used to make similar bus journeys to those normally taken on the tram. The ticket is not valid for journeys beyond these areas where the final destination could not be reached by tram.
• Tram Only ticket must be valid and normal terms apply.
The BL3 tram replacement bus service will operate between Halfway and Birley Moor Road.
