The Summer Lakes Connection - Explore the Lake District by bus


When you visit the lakes this summer, leave the car at home and appreciate the true beauty of the lakes and travel by bus. 

Discover quaint little villages and bustling market towns, rolling fells and vast waters, lakes and mere's when you travel on our extensive network of services. 

With easy connections to Ambleside, Bowness on Windermere, Coniston, Grasmere, Kendal, Keswick, Ullswater and Windermere from local train stations, making the most of your stay has never been easier.

Need the car to get here? That's fine. With Park and Explore, you can park up in one of the many dedicated Park and Explore car parks in the Central Lakes, pay for all day parking and explore with all day bus travel. Full details are in the table below.

     

The 2016 Summer Lakes Connection guide 

The Lakes Connection is your essential guide to travelling by bus. With timetable information and day out ideas, all you need to do is sit back, relax and enjoy the ride. 

Summer services start on Saturday 19 March and run through to Sunday 30 October 2016. You can view  the 2016 Summer Lakes Connection guide  (48MB) or you can  email us  and we’ll send you a copy in the post.

Service updates

The A591 between Grasmere and Keswick is due to open on 11th May. The 555 shuttle service will finish and the 555 service will return to a normal timetable after 8.30am.
