Spread your wings on the Cross Pennine 685/X85 

Stagecoach Cumbria and North Lancashire has teamed up with Arriva North East, Northumberland County Council and Cumbria County Council to bring customers a brand new and improved service between Newcastle, Corbridge, Hexham , Haltwhistle, Brampton and Carlisle.

Together, we've re-vamped the service and can now offer a great range of improvements for everyone!

With newly branded vehicle across the whole service, buses will continue to run up to every hour between Newcastle and Carlisle and up to every 30 minutes between Brampton and Carlisle.

We're changing the timetable to improve punctuality; adding later journeys from Newcastle on Monday - Saturday evenings and also simplifying the route in Melkridge and Carlisle to minimise journey times.

You can sit back and relax on comfortable high backed seats and use the free on-board WI-FI to surf the web whilst you're on the move.

Hexham Bus Station is getting a re-vamp!

A new  Bus Station at Loosing Hill in Hexham will open on Wednesday 30th November and will offer customers' major improvements in facilities. The bus station will include an enclosed waiting area, toilets and a refreshment kiosk. 

The 685 service will serve the new bus station when it opens but will continue to pick up and drop off at stops on Priestpopple next to the current one.
