Lancaster Bus Launch

Lancaster Network Change 13th January 2019

New Buses

Service 1 will be run with brand new buses featuring free WiFi and USB charging points. They also have ergonomically designed seating for greater comfort.

More Time Added

Services 1 and 2 will be given more time during the morning peak to allow on time arrivals at Lancaster and the University.

There will be extra evening journeys added to service 1, with the last bus to Morecambe Battery leaving the bus station at twenty past midnight Monday to Saturday all year round.

Extra Capacity

To allow us to increase the capacity on service 2, buses will no longer travel under Torrisholme Road railway bridge. This means all service 2 buses will now run via Morecambe Road and Scale Hall, with double decker buses being used to provide more space.

So that an evening service continues on Torrisholme Road, to the east of the bridge, service 7 will now run from the bus station at 19:15, 20:15, 21:15 and 23:00 on Monday to Saturday evenings.

Later Buses to the Rail Station

There will be some slightly later departures on service 4 from the University to the railway station, with the last bus being 7pm during the week. Also following passenger requests, all buses that finish at the station will now continue along the Quay.
