Free travel for Anglia Ruskin University Students in Peterborough and Cambridge

University should be for everyone. In collaboration with Anglia Ruskin University, we are offering students free travel to and from ARU's Cambridge and Peterborough campuses on the dates listed below.

Applicant Days:

Open Days & Evenings:

• Saturday, 18 January 2025 (UG)
• Wednesday, 19 March 2025 (PG)
• Saturday, 7 June 2025 (UG)
  
  How to claim your free travel:
  
  Simply show your driver the e-voucher that has been emailed to you by ARU and ask for a free single ticket. This voucher entitles you and one parent/guardian to unlimited free single tickets within our Cambridgeshire MegaRider Plus zone on Stagecoach East bus services.   

Routes to the University

Our Peterborough Bus Network:

The Citi 1 from Orton or Werrington is the easiest way to get to the Campus, with buses stopping right at the front door. This bus can also be used as a connection, leaving from Queensgate Bus Station in the city centre. You can travel to Queensgate using the following services:

• Citi 1 - Catch buses from Orton, Werrington or Queensgate
• Citi 2- Catch buses from Bretton or Paston to Queensgate
• Citi 3- Catch buses from Bretton or Stanground to Queensgate
• Citi 5 - Catch buses from Welland, Fletton or Yaxley to Queensgate

You can also connect to the Citi 1 service by taking a bus to Queensgate Bus Station. You can travel to Queensgate Bus Station using the following services:

• Citi 4 - Catch buses from Parnwell and the City Hospital to Queensgate Bus Station
• Citi 6- Catch buses from Hampton or Peterborough Rail Station to Queensgate Bus Station

Travel from further afield:

• 904 - Catch buses from Huntingdon, Stilton and Sawtry to Queensgate Bus Station

You can make connections from Cambridge onto the 904 service by using:

Our Cambridge Bus Network:

The Citi 2 from Addenbrookes to Milton is the easiest way to get to campus, stopping just a 5 minute walk away. This bus can be used as a connection from the city centre or Cambridge North Rail Station. You can travel to the City Centre using the following services;

Citi 1 – Catch buses from Fulburn or Arbury

Citi 3 – Catch Buses from Fison Road or Cherry Hinton

Citi 4  - Catch Buses from Camborne

Citi 5 – Catch Buses from Bar Hill and Longstanton

Citi 6 – Catch Buses from Oakington

Citi 7– Catch Buses from Saffron Walden and Sawston

The Busway – Catch Buses from St Ives and Huntingdon

• Free single tickets are available on selected dates for travel to and from the ARU Open Day & Evening and Applicant Days events only and are non-refundable and non-transferrable
  
• Free single tickets are available on Stagecoach East buses only, within the Cambridgeshire Megarider Plus zone. All other zones are excluded from this offer.
• Free single tickets are only available for prospective students and one accompanying adult with a valid e-voucher. All other attendees will have to pay the full price of the fare. 
• Offer is not valid on Stagecoach Midlands services, which includes the X4 route.
