For this year’s International Women’s Day, we’re proud to highlight seven incredible women from all walks of our business.

Meet Hema - Operations Manager, Peterborough

As Operations Manager for Peterborough, Hema keeps the wheels turning, leading a team of over 140 Drivers, Controllers, and Operational staff. She makes sure that services safely run day in, day out, connecting communities to the people and places that matter the most. Whether she’s crunching numbers, meeting with Councillors, or stepping in when roadworks hit, Hema’s got it. 

Meet Lisa - Driver, Fenstanton

Lisa has been driving buses in Cambridgeshire for nearly 40 years. She gets you home safe and makes sure you have a pleasant journey every day. At Stagecoach, she’s known for her friendly nature and her knack for providing excellent customer service. Lisa says this job is all about people, and she’s not wrong! Say hi next time you board her bus.

Meet Dani  – Controller, Bedford  

Dani is the eyes and ears of the operation, making sure buses stay on schedule. She thinks quickly on her feet to address issues like roadworks and congestion in real-time. Monitoring the network, re-routing buses and communicating with drivers is all part of the day job for Dani. 

Meet Sylwia – Presentation Team Leader, Cambridge

 

Sylwia tackles grime and spills like the pro she is, making buses shine from floor to ceiling. Whether it's midnight or early morning, she’s there to ensure you have a clean and comfortable journey. She works hard behind the scenes leading a dedicated team, and she won’t shy away from checking every single spot to make sure you can travel with confidence.  

Meet Tamara - Payroll Clerk, Bedford

Tamara knows all about numbers. With years of experience in payroll, she’s a master at calculating employee wages, ensuring tax deductions are precise, and guaranteeing everyone gets paid on time - no exceptions, no excuses. If there's a discrepancy, Tamara's on it faster than you can say “tax season.”

Meet Amber – Marketing Manager, Head Office

As Marketing Manager, Amber does more than just promote bus travel or report on KPIs — though, she’s great at that too! She’s in charge of both digital and traditional marketing, orchestrates publicity and events, and brings a sharp eye for detail to every project. With over five years at the company, Amber’s always one step ahead, constantly innovating and creating campaigns that truly connect with our customers. 

Meet Maria – Engineering Apprentice, Cambridge

 

Maria is a driven Engineering Apprentice, balancing work with college, where she dives deep into the world of bus mechanics and design. She’s a pro at maintaining vehicles and spotting when something’s not quite right. But to really get it, you’ll have to see the video!
