Coronavirus Update Close

We all need to do whatever we can to protect each other from Coronavirus, so in line with the latest government guidance, there are measures in place to help you to travel with confidence, including limiting available seats on buses and enhanced cleaning. Unless you’re exempt, you must wear a face covering when using public transport, throughout your journey. Please avoid busy times, use contactless payment where you can and take your litter with you. For up to date information see our Coronavirus page.

There are temporary timetables in Wales between 25 October and 9 November due to a two-week Welsh Government lockdown.

Be Greener, Go By Bus

100% Electric, Zero Emissions

Get on board for a cleaner, greener Manchester

We're proud to unveil Greater Manchester’s first double-decker electric buses.

The 32 electric buses operate on the popular 111 and 43 routes connecting Manchester city centre, Manchester Airport, five hospitals and three universities.

These zero emission buses can travel 190 miles on a single charge and will help to ease pollution on some of Europe’s busiest roads.

A double-decker bus can already take more than 70 cars off the road and our new e-buses will save 2208 tonnes of carbon a year compared to the existing fleet, as well as improving local air quality.
