Important changes to Cheshire Travelcards

There have been some important changes to Cheshire Travelcards, including how they are accepted and used on Stagecoach services.

Find out what to do if you have a Cheshire Stored Value Travelcard or a Zone 1 or Zone 2 Travelcard.

If you have a Cheshire Stored Value Travelcard

Blue Stored Value Travelcards

The Blue Chester Stored Value Travelcard can no longer be used on any bus. It has been replaced by the new Yellow Cheshire Stored Value Travelcard.

If you still have a Blue Chester Stored Value Travelcard with a remaining balance on it, you can either:

  • return it for a full refund or
  • transfer the balance to a new Yellow Cheshire Stored Value Travelcard

Yellow Stored Value Travelcards

All Yellow Cheshire Travelcards are accepted on Stagecoach buses. Initially, you’ll only be able to use your card to buy paper single tickets.

Single tickets are sold at the standard price.

If you have a Zone Travelcard

Zone Travelcards can still be used on buses when you show a receipt with a valid expiry date. No new applications are currently being accepted.

These cards can no longer be topped up on Stagecoach buses. Existing Zone Travelcard holders can top up their pass at the Chester Visitor Information Centre  at the Town Hall.
