Following changes to government guidance in England and Wales more seats are available on our buses and standing is allowed. There will also be more seats available in Scotland.

Please continue to wear a face covering throughout your journey, unless you’re exempt.

Stagecoach Smart and Walrus in Merseyside and Chester

From 30 January 2017, adult and young person's Merseyside megarider plus+ tickets purchased on Stagecoach buses operating in Merseyside will be issued on Merseytravel Walrus cards.


Just so you know...

·         Your ticket price will not change

·         Your travel zone (Liverpool, Wirral and Chester) will not change

·         You should place the Walrus card on the ticket machine near the driver when boarding

·         Your StagecoachSmart card will remain valid in the Merseyside megarider+ zone if you currently buy (or top up) your bus ticket at stagecoachbus.com. 

·         You can keep your current StagecoachSmart card to buy a ticket online or outside Merseyside (i.e. Chester megarider, Preston megarider) 

Changes to StagecoachSmart Cards in Chester

From 30 January 2017, adult and young person's Merseyside megarider plus+ tickets purchased on Stagecoach buses operating in Chester will be issued on StagecoachSmart cards.

·         Your StagecoachSmart card will remain valid in the Merseyside megarider+ zone if you currently buy (or top up) your bus ticket at stagecoachbus.com. 

If you buy a Merseyside megarider plus+ ticket on services X8, 1 or 2 this will be issued on a Walrus card - see changes to StagecoachSmart cards in Merseyside

Please note:

Credit on Walrus cards will not be replaced if lost or stolen. Tickets bought on stagecoachbus.com will continue to be issued on StagecoachSmart cards and remain valid in Merseyside plus+ zone. Registered StagecoachSmart tickets will be replaced with any outstanding credit if lost or stolen.

These changes are being made as part of the LCR Bus Alliance, a partnership between Arriva, Merseytravel and Stagecoach to improve local bus services.
