Peterborough Cathedral is right in the city centre and is renowned for its medieval painted nave ceiling, dating from around 1230 and the only one of its type in Britain. You can take a guided tour of the cathedral floor, or for the more daring among you brave the heights of the tower for fantastic views of the city.
