Come and visit Santa's Grotto on our Christmas bus!

This Christmas, we're once again hosting Santa's Grotto on board the Stagecoach Christmas bus.

Our Christmas bus will be on Grainger Street in Newcastle city centre between Monday 17th and Sunday 23rd December 2018.

Bring the family to see Santa Claus and his chief elf, who will be giving away festive freebies and treats!

Please donate

Last Christmas, the generosity of visitors to the Christmas bus helped us to donate over £22,000 to multiple charities across the North East.

We need your help again this December, and donations to Santa's chosen charities - The Chronicle Sunshine Fund and Northumbria Blood Bikes - would be greatly appreciated!

The Chronicle Sunshine Fund

The Chronicle Sunshine Fund is a North East based charity enhancing the lives of disabled children and their families in our region by providing equipment to suit their specialist needs.

The North East has some of the highest numbers of children registered as disabled in the UK. This means there are thousands of children local to us all, who desperately need our support.

The cost for specialist equipment cannot always be absorbed by the NHS or Social Services, and so parents, carers, support workers, schools, charities and organisations apply to The Chronicle Sunshine Fund.

The charity relies on the generosity of organisations, businesses, individuals and the community to fund our work by raising £430,000 annually. Their main fundraising stems from charitable trusts, corporate donations and events.

Northumbria Blood Bikes

Northumbria Blood Bikes is a charitable organisation currently being established by local volunteers to deliver essential blood and other urgent medical supplies out of hours between hospitals and healthcare sites in North East England.

Outside normal office hours, hospitals rely on taxis or couriers to transfer urgent medical supplies or test samples between hospitals and other sites. Blood Bike groups, across the country, offer to carry out this service free of charge, ensuring the limited resources of the NHS can be used where it makes a difference.

Northumbria Blood Bikes' funding comes entirely from charitable donations, and as they grow the service will need more bikes and funds to cover their running costs.
