Newcastle-Gateshead City Sightseeing tours – hop on, hop off!

Hop on and off Stagecoach’s open-top City Sightseeing buses in Newcastle and Gateshead. Our NewcastleGateshead sightseeing tour will show you all the sights and sounds of this vibrant North East area. The main stop is outside Newcastle Central Station but you can join the tour anywhere on its route.

    

The tour

Your ticket is valid for twenty four hours from when you first buy it. This means there’s plenty of time to hop on and off the open-top bus to see lots of attractions in this lively and beautiful area.

  • Quayside – stroll along the Tyne and see the magnificent Gateshead Millennium Bridge
  • Great North Museum – hop off at Claremont Road for some history and culture
  • Baltic – visit the biggest art space of its kind in the world
  • Sage Gateshead– watch a performance at this international centre for music
  • St James’ Park football ground – take a tour of Newcastle United’s home
  • Eldon Square – browse an enviable array of shops and boutiques

When the tours run

Newcastle-Gateshead City Sightseeing tours are available: 

  • Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays ONLY between Sunday 25 March 2018 and Saturday 27 October 2018
  • Daily between Sunday 1 July 2018 and Saturday 15 September 2018
  • (no service on Great North Run Day, Sunday 9 September 2018)

Tours start at 10:30 and leave at least every hour until 14:30.

Great Exhibition of The North - Ouseburn tour

Between 22 June 2018 and 8 September 2018, in partnership with The Great Exhibition of The North, we are running a special tour linking to the Ouseburn.

These special buses on the "Blue Route" are in addition to the normal "Red Route" tour. Day tickets purchased on one route are valid on the other.

  • The Biscuit Factory
  • Ouseburn Valley
  • Seven Stories, The National Centre for Children's Books
  • Toffee Factory
