Smart Easyrider

the smart new way to get around by bus

From 30th July 2017, Easyrider will additionally be valid on Go North East buses across the Teesside, Darlington and Hartlepool areas. This means you can use all buses operated by Stagecoach, Arriva and Go North East in your area, making it much more convenient!

Easyrider will also be sold on a smart card, and not as a paper ticket

Get your smart card from your driver, or online*.

Where to  buy a  smart  Easyrider

Smart Easyrider tickets can also be bought from your local travel shop:

  • Stagecoach on Teesside, 79 High Street, Stockton on Tees, TS18 1AF
  • Arriva, 109 High Street, Stockton-on-Tees, TS18 1BB
  • Arriva, Newport Road Bus Station, Middlesbrough, TS1 5EA / TS1 5AH

How it works

If you don’t already have a smart card we can send you one with your first order (mind, this will take up to five days). When buying online you will have to select the date you want the ticket to start from.

Because the Easyrider will be loaded onto your smart card they are super easy to use – just put the smart card on the top of the ticket machine on the bus. They are really secure as they can be replaced or cancelled if they become lost.

Once you’ve got the Go North East key smart card, StagecoachSmart card or Arriva Connect you can buy weekly tickets on the bus from the driver. Tickets are also available over the phone from Go North East on 0191 420 5050.

You can see the full boundaries on the Easyrider zone map, and full network of buses on the Teesside and Hartlepool route maps.

*When you purchase a product online, it is ‘activated’ on the smartcard when you make your first trip. Depending on the website you purchase your ticket from initially, you will have to activate the ticket on one of those buses. For example, if you buy on stagecoachbus.com then you will have to use a Stagecoach bus first. This is the same for Go North East and Arriva.
