Ticketless travel for Concessions

By going paper free, we can reduce litter on board and do a little more to save our planet. So, when you travel from 1st April 2023, you'll no longer be issued a paper ticket when you scan your concession card.

What's changing?

Why is this change happening?

The change will help to reduce the use of paper and the amount of waste produced on buses. This will help us to work toward our commitment to a greener society, as well as reduce the amount of litter on our buses, improving your journey experience.

What will I do differently when using my concession bus pass on board?

There will be no change to your concessionary card or how you use it. You will still need to place your card on the scanner.

Afterward, instead of waiting for your paper receipt to print, just wait for the green light and then head onto the bus to find your seat.

What if an Inspector comes on board, checking tickets?

Please be ensured that your valid ENCTS concession card is sufficient proof of travel
