National lockdown restrictions are in place across England until 2 December but bus services are running as normal. You should only travel for work, education or other permitted reasons. 

In South Wales, all of our timetables will go back to what we were running before the 'firebreak' lockdown. There will also be some timetable changes to a number of Aberdare services to improve connectivity. 

The new tier system is in operation across Scotland, but if you need to travel, make sure you're up-to-date with what's happening in your area by checking the local government guidance.

We've put in place measures to allow you to travel safely including limiting available seats on buses and enhanced cleaning. Unless you’re exempt, you must wear a face covering throughout your journey. Please avoid busy times, use contactless payment where you can, keep your distance and take your litter with you. Huge savings for Under 19s!

North East - Under 19 tickets

With a Stagecoach Under 19 ID card, you can buy discounted bus tickets for all Stagecoach buses in Tyne and Wear, Teesside and Hartlepool.

Once you have your card you can present it to your driver each time you buy or use an Under 19 ticket on board.

 

What do I need?

All customers aged between 5 and 18 years old must provide proof that they are Under 19.

ID must be presented at the point of use and purchase on board.

 

Valid forms of ID include: passport, driving licence, student ID (stating DOB), PASS card or with one of the following bus operator ID cards:

Keep an eye on the expiry date, to make sure yours is valid and you always benefit from this great saving!

 

Get a FREE Stagecoach Under 19 ID card

The new Under 19 ID card is FREE each year and are valid from now until 31st August 2020 or your 19th birthday, whichever comes first. 

If you haven't got yours, you can   download our   Under 19 application form  and send it back to the following address:

You should receive your card within a week. However, our ID card makers can become very busy at the start of the new academic year, so please allow 2 weeks in August and September.

Please note: you can no longer obtain a card in person at The Wheatsheaf Offices.

 

If you lose your Under 19 ID card

A replacement for lost or stolen cards costs £3.00. To replace an Under 19 ID card, complete the   Under 19 application form  again and send this to us with a passport-sized photograph, then make a debit or credit card payment over the phone on 0191 566 0231 (Mon-Fri, 09:00-17:00). The card holder must make the call.

 

Where you can travel with Under 19 tickets

Under 19 tickets allow you to travel anywhere on Stagecoach North East buses in Tyne and Wear, Northumberland and the Tees Valley.

That includes Newcastle, South Shields, Sunderland, Hartlepool, Stockton and Middlesbrough...plus into Ponteland and Darras Hall on routes X77, X78 and X79.

*Please note: From 26 October 2020, 28 day Under 19 tickets will be delivered on a Stagecoach Smartcard. Don't worry, all you need to do is present your new Smartcard to the ticket machine when you board the bus and our friendly driver will do the rest!
