North East VIP tickets – cheaper travel for under 19s!

If you’re under 19 and have an ID card, you can buy a Stagecoach VIP ticket. You’ll be able to use it on our buses in Tyne & Wear and The Tees Valley as often as you like. 


What ID you’ll need

You’ll have to prove you’re a VIP (between 5 and 18 years old) when you buy your ticket or get on the bus. To do this, you can use a:

Keep an eye on the expiry date, to make sure yours is valid.


Get a Stagecoach VIP ID card

If you haven't got an ID card, you can download our VIP application form  and send it back to: VIP ID Card, Stagecoach, The Wheatsheaf Offices, Sunderland SR5 1AQ.

You can also drop your application form into us at our travel shop on Stockton High Street. We will try to make up your card while you wait but, at busy times, we might ask you to leave it with us and we'll post it out to you.

Please note: you can no longer obtain a card in person at The Wheatsheaf Offices.


If you lose your VIP card

You can apply for a free VIP ID card each year. If you need to replace your card, it will cost £3. To apply for a replacement, download our VIP application form  and send it back to us.

You can also pay over the phone with a debit or credit card on 0191 566 0231 (Mon-Fri, 09:00-17:00). The card holder must make the call.


Where you can travel with your VIP ticket

Your VIP ticket lets you ride on all our buses in the North East, including Teesside, Hartlepool, Tyne and Wear and into Northumberland to Ponteland and Darras Hall. 

You won’t be able to buy a VIP ticket on Route 685 between Carlisle and Newcastle.
