Stagecoach North Scotland are proud to introduce you to 17 brand new luxury 'Buchan Xpress' Elite-i coaches which are now operating in Buchan. The 'Buchan Xpress' is a luxurious upgrade on the previous 'Buchan Link' vehicles and will provide a premium experience for our passengers. The new fleet has been a significant £5.5 million investment in to Operations in the Buchan Area and passenger experience.
The new Buchan Xpress brand has been developed by the Stagecoach team based in Aberdeen to best reflect the luxury that the distinctive new vehicles will bring to our passengers.
Steve Walker, Managing Director, Stagecoach North Scotland said: “This investment is all about delivering better coach services in our area. We are committed to encourage more people to travel by bus and we hope that when the community see the new coaches they will be tempted to use the bus for their journey."
Keith Brown, Cabinet Secretary for Infrastructure, Investment and Cities who launched the vehicles said: “It is great to see this superb new fleet of Stagecoach buses, which will bring real benefits for passengers and the environment, hit the road. Alongside investment like this by operators such as Stagecoach, the Scottish Government is investing record amounts in public transport - providing over £250 million a year to fund the Bus Service Operators Grant as well as free bus travel for elderly and disabled concession card holders.
“We want to see quality and comfortable alternatives to the car through investment in greener, more efficient vehicles that can help link communities, people, places of business and employment and essential services. The new Buchan Xpress brand is an excellent example of the type of vehicle and service we want to see if we are to make bus travel an attractive option.”
All 17 Buchan Xpress coaches will be on the road from Monday 16th November.
