Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Moray and the Highlands Student Bus Passes

Unirider - the only student bus pass you need for travel in North Scotland!

Unirider is the flexible student bus pass that gives you cheaper travel anywhere within your zone - pay once and use it as many times as you like throughout the term or year.

Get on any Stagecoach bus with just one ticket. If you can get there by Stagecoach bus, you can get there with unirider.

 

Which unirider ticket do I need?

We offer an array of unirider tickets to suit your travel zone, whether it be Aberdeen, Moray, Inverness or Caithness. Check out the table  at the bottom of this page to find out which ticket covers what area.

 

Aberdeen city and Aberdeenshire
If you're studying at Aberdeen University, RGU, NES College (Aberdeen) or SRUC (Craibstone) we have a range of tickets to suit your travel needs. The tickets below offer the best value for frequent travellers, if you are travelling infrequently we also have a range of student day tickets. 


Aberdeen zone 1 - this is the ideal ticket for students living and studying in Aberdeen. You can choose from a 4 week, 13 week or full term ticket for unlimited travel in the city, buy your Aberdeen zone 1 unirider here. 


Aberdeen zone 2 - if you're living outside the city in Balmedie, Blackburn, Drumoak or Portlethen the zone 2 unirider is your best ticket for unlimited travel to the city. You can also use it on any other Stagecoach bus in the city. This ticket is available as 4 week, 13 week or full term and is valid for unlimited travel in Aberdeen zone 2, buy your Aberdeen zone 2 unirider here.


Aberdeen zone 3 - students from Stonehaven, Banchory, Inverurie and Ellon will love the new Aberdeen zone 3 unirider. This ticket is valid for unlimited travel from these towns to Aberdeen and on any Stagecoach bus in the city network. Bluebird - The Bluebird unirider is valid for all Stagecoach services in Aberdeenshire including services 10 and 11 to Inverness and service X7 to Dundee. Buchan - *NEW for 18/19* - This is the perfect ticket for students studying at the Fraserburgh NesCol campus and living in Buchan area. This ticket is available as 4 week, 13 week and full term and is valid for unlimited travel in Buchan. Buy your Buchan unirider here.


East Scotland -  This is the perfect ticket for students living in Fife, Perthshire, Dundee or Angus and studying in Aberdeen. It is valid on all Stagecoach East Scotland services and into Aberdeen on service X7. This ticket is available as 1 day, 7 day, 4 week, and 13 week. Buy your East Scotland student ticket here.

 

U21 Discount - Buchan and service 35

If you are under 21 you can also take advantage of the Under 21 discount card valid on service 35 in Aberdeenshire and the Buchan area. If you are aged between 16 and 20 and travel on a regular basis you can take advantage of up to 50% off with an U21 Discount Card

Elgin and Moray

Elgin City Plus  - *NEW for 18/19* - Students commuting to Moray College from Lossiemouth, Lhanbryde, Alves or Burghead need this ticket. This ticket is available as 4 week, 13 week and full term and is valid for unlimited travel in the Elgin City Plus area. Buy your Elgin City Plus unirider here.

Moray Coast - *NEW for 18/19* - The Moray Coast unirider is ideal for students at Moray College commuting from Forres, Dufftown, Keith, Turriff, Macduff or Banff. Inverness and the Highlands

If you're studying at Inverness Campus we have a range of tickets to suit your travel needs. The tickets below offer the best value for frequent travellers, if you are travelling infrequently we also have a range of student day tickets.

Inverness zone 1/1A - this is the ideal ticket for students living and studying in Inverness. You can choose from a 4 week, 13 week or full term ticket for unlimited travel in the city, buy your Inverness zone 1/1A unirider here.

Inverness zone 2 - If you're commuting to Inverness Campus from Nairn, Tomatin, Foyers or Dingwall this is the ticet for you. You can choose from a 4 week, 13 week or full term ticket for unlimited travel in the city, buy your Inverness zone 2 unirider here.

Inverness zone 3 - This is the perfect ticket for students at Inverness College travelling from Forres, Alness or Fort Augustus. You can choose from a 4 week, 13 week or full term ticket for unlimited travel in the city, buy your Inverness zone 3 unirider here.

Inverness zone 4 ­ - Inverness college students from as far as Brora, Elgin or Dalwhinnie should go for the Inverness zone 4 unirider. You can choose from a 4 week, 13 week or full term ticket for unlimited travel in the city, buy your Inverness zone 4 unirider here.  

Caithness - Following feedback in our consultation in Caithness we have introduced the Caithness unirider for the 18/19 year. This is ideal for students attending North Highland College travelling from as far as Reay or Helmsdale. Where can I buy my unirider ticket?

You can purchase your unirider ticket from our online shop. We offer 4 week,13 week and term tickets, but don't forget you can get also get discount on single and return fares when you show a valid student ID card* when boarding the bus. 

 

Please note, that to travel using your unirider ticket, you'll need to have a valid NUS or University/College matriculation card with photo ID, as unirider cards will only be accepted on our buses when you show valid ID*.

 

What should I do if I lose my unirider ticket?

We understand that there is a small chance of you losing your ticket, please look after it as it’s a valuable item.  If you do lose it, you must report it to the police as a lost  or stolen item and they will give you a reference number.  Please then contact Stagecoach North Scotland using the  details below:
