Thanet’s open-top bus, route 69, is as much part of the traditional seaside experience as fish and chips and ice cream!

Open-top buses were a popular part of the summer scene in Thanet during the 1960s and 70s. And in 2016 Stagecoach South East introduced a new open-top, route 69. In the same easily recognisable cream and maroon colours of old, locals and visitors get to enjoy the jaunty and nostalgic thrill of a bracing seaside ride along some of the best of Thanet's scenic coast.

In 2019 there were over 13,000 passenger trips on the open-top bus. Sadly, we couldn't operate the bus in 2020, but this year we're hopeful that the service will resume in May!

The route runs between Ramsgate Boating Pool and Broadstairs Stone Bay and to celebrate its return, we are giving away some season passes. All you need to do to enter is share your 'top moments' on the route 69 open-top bus. We will choose three winning 'top moments' to use in our advertising and marketing campaign, and each winner will receive a pair of open-top 2021 season passes.

Competition closes on 18 April 2021.
