National Customer Service Week 2017

October 2nd to October 6th has marked National Customer Service Week 2017 in conjunction with The Institute of Customer Service.


Here at Stagecoach in South Wales we have been running activities throughout the week celebrating excellent customer service and looking at where our customer service could be even better. Take a look at a few of the activities from the week below!


Star Staff

We asked management from each depot as well as you, our lovely customers on Twitter, to nominate a member of Stagecoach in South Wales team that really stood out as a star! We chose five winners, one each day for the week who have each been gifted with £30 retail vouchers as a little thank you for what they have done. Two of the winners stories are here for you to see what we count as going that little bit further.

Darren Moyle

Darren, a member of our team from the Porth depot went above and beyond to help out a young girl, aged 6, find her mother when she was found on the bus alone. With some chasing up Darren reunited her with a very relieved mother. 


Richard Brooks

When a request came in from Rhondda Cynon Taff Social Services to assist a blind couple with a new baby with practical guidance on how to travel by bus, Richard came to the help. He helped the couple gain confidence in using the bus with their newborn. We want you all to know our services are accessible to all and we are always happy to help should you need guidance, just contact your local depot and they can advise what is best for you personally!


Breakfast Giveaways


On Tuesday morning members of our team headed to the local streets to hand out breakfast goodies including our very own Stagecoach breakfast bars and little extras such as juice cartons and fruit. Did you spot our team in Aberdare, Pontypridd, Cwmbran, Blackwood or Caerphilly?





Wednesday gave you all the chance to directly ask a member of management a question. From midday members of our management team manned the Twitter account and answered any questions you had. Every person who used the hashtag #TweetTheManager when asking a question was entered in to a prize draw to win a 1 week South Wales Megarider. Our winner has now been announced, Dafydd Watkins your 1 week South Wales Megarider will be with you shortly!


Meet the Manager


Wednesday also saw the chance to meet the manager. Our operations director, David Conway was out and about driving our 132 service, Maerdy to Cardiff and back. Our Cwmbran managers also headed out to Gwent Square in Cwmbran with our 'infobus' giving out plenty of helpful information as well as some Stagecoach goodies.
