Lights switch on

The Christmas countdown starts with the light switch on Thursday 16 November from 4pm in Princesshay Square. We'll also be there with festive giveaways! This year's Exeter Chiefs will be switching on the lights. The new look Cathedral Christmas Market starts the same evening so why not make a night of it and then let us whisk you away home again afterwards? Head over to for the full guide to what to see and do in the city.

Festive street entertainment

Take a break from the Christmas shopping and let yourself be entertained by a variety of street performers who'll be out and about between 23 November and 21 December.

Pantos galore!

It's not Christmas without a trip to the panto! Exeter Northcott (Dick Whittington),the Corn Exchange (Cinderella) and Barnfield Theatre (Beauty and the Beast) are all getting in on the fun. Or for something a little different why not see the award winning Wandering Tiger's production of 'Humbug!' set in the historic St Nicolas Priory.
