Celebrate Christmas in Barnstaple!

Lights switch on

There's a packed programme of events planned in Barnstaple in the run up to Christmas, kicking off with the town's light switch-on event on Sunday 19 November. Back with a new format and more lights, this year’s Christmas Light Switch On event promises to be better than ever.

The day starts with a street food party in the Pannier Market from 11am with various entertainment throughout the day. At 4pm there will be a move to The Square where there will be usual magical, festive mix of entertainment and music on the stage until the countdown to the big light switch on at 6pm.

Plus, we'll also be there to launch a very special bus - the Chemo Hero bus - in support of the local charity that provides boxes of kindness to those undergoing treatment for cancer.
