The Golden Hop 122  open top buses operate in Torbay connecting Babbacombe, St Marychurch, Torquay Harbour and Paignton, 7 days a week.

Here, you can hop off for Torbay Leisure Centre, Splashdown Quaywest and Goodrington.


Buses also stop at Hoburne’s Devon Bay Holiday Park, offering a doorstop connection for site’s visitors to take in the many attractions Torbay has to offer during their stay.

Places to visit on the Golden Hop

If you’re looking for things to do near Paignton or Torquay then the Hop 122 can connect you to a number of days out.


  • Paignton Zoo  is a fantastic family day out , hosting over 2,500 animals across it’s 80 acres. You can get up close to some of the world’s most extraordinary animal who live in specially designed habitats – from the wetlands and tropical forest’s to the savannah. There are several play areas within the zoo and you can explore the area via the Jungle Express train. Connections to the Zoo are available via route 22 or GOLD at Paignton bus station.
  • Splashdown Quaywest is the biggest outdoor waterpark in the UK. The park is situated with a backdrop of spectacular views of the beach. Get your adrenalin flowing over their 8 flume rides, which allow you to slide outside to the beautiful Goodrington sands. 
  • Babbacombe Model Village is branded as one of Europe's Premier Model Villages and is also home to award-winning gardens stretching over 4 acres . The attraction showcases hundreds of scenes, featuring model vehicles and people.
  • Kents Cavern features an extensive labyrinth of spectacular Stone Age caves. All caverns are easily accessible and are led by entertaining guided tours. The attraction allows to experience up close thousands of year old cave formations, amongst it’s many  passageways and chambers.
  • Babbacombe Cliff Railway has shuttled hundreds of thousands of people between Oddicombe Beach and Babbacombe Downs since it’s opening in 1926.  Oddicombe beach features some of the UK’s most breathtaking scenery and is a great way to spend a chilled afternoon. The whole family will enjoy the memorable trip  to and from the water’s edge in this historic cliff railway.
  • Bygones is home to an authentic life-size Victorian Street. Learn some amazing stories across history by taking in the Victorian Sweetshop, Blacksmith, nursery, parlour, kitchen and dentist! The attraction is also home to a refurbished model railway, a 1950’s and 60’s shopping arcade and a WWII Anderson Shelter. There’s also a range of sweet treats available at the Station Café.
  • Torquay Museum is a great attraction for the whole family to get hands on with history. You can travel back through 400 million years of time across their wide variety of exhibitions. You can learn about South Devon’s amazing archaeology, geology and people. The museum also features a child-friendly summer blockbuster exhibition each year.
