Exeter's best bits

There's so much to see and do here - why not head over to for your complete guide to the city.

  • Fore Street/South Street/North Street/Gandy Street we're proud of how many independent businesses we have in the city and you'll find most of them located in one of these streets where there's everything from vintage clothing to crafts to coffee and cocktails
  • Princesshay located in the heart of the city, Princesshay is home to many high end retailers including All Saints, MAC and Hollister. They also host the famous student lock-in event - an ideal opportunity to pick up some great bargains!
  • Guildhall/Queen St Dining Guildhall has a great selection of shops including Wilkos who will kit you out with all your student basics. Also opening this Autumn is Queen Street Dining which will house both local and national restaurants and bars including Turtle Bay, Gourmet Burget Kitchen and The Terrace - a restaurant, cocktail bar and live music venue all in one
  • Exeter Quayside slightly further afield is the historic Quayside. Here, you'll find great bars and restaurants including Samuel Jones and On the Waterfront. There's also a climbing centre and outdoor activity centre or you can hire bikes and cycle the Exe Trail from the city all the way to the seaside in Exmouth.
