Catch the Bus Week is starting on 4 July, and we want you to get onboard to give the bus a try!
Catch the Bus Week (#CTBW) will see Stagecoach Bus joining forces with Greener Journeys and other local bus providers to launch a major drive to get the public out of cars and onto the bus.
The initiative, which will run for a week from 4th July, will see leading bus companies across the country encouraging their local communities to ditch their cars in favour of a greener mode of transport; their local bus network.
Buses are the most widely used mode of public transport across Great Britain, and are vital to our society and our economy. We carry millions of people every day for work, school, college, shopping, leisure and to visit friends and family, across Hampshire, Surrey & West Sussex.
If you hop on the bus just a couple of times a month, then you will be helping by reducing the number of car journeys made - so much so, there would be one billion fewer car journeys!
If you have never been on the bus for a little while, you may be suprised by what they have to offer. We have over 200 buses that have free WiFi, so you can catch up with friends and not use your data, and if you use our buses in Winchester you can also use our on board USB charge sockets, if you are running low on battery power!
The average bus commuter spends 6 hours on the bus every week. Give the bus a try and see what you could achieve on board...
You could read 52 books in one year
You could learn French in half a year
You could knit 28 scarves a year
You could read 8,550 newspaper articles a year
You could watch every episode of Games of Thrones, Mad Men
and Breaking Bad in a year
You could have 12 Facetime catch-ups a week using the free Wifi
Or, like a third of commuters, listen to other people's conversations
