Green Week 2017 - Delivering Solutions

To celebrate Green Week and our Delivering Solutions theme we're asking you to think of green solutions which will help our local environment.  If you have a community or schools project with an eco friendly focus then we'd like to hear about it.

Due to popular demand we have once again  set up a "Make a Difference Grant" of £500 which will be donated  to one local community group or school project which can clearly show that their project will make a positive environmental difference within their local community.

Last years winner was Summerhill Community Centre, a community project based in Dumfries.  The group were gifted unused land from the local housing association to turn into an environmental area that the community could use. Young and old have been involved in creating the Summerhill Land Art garden, creating wooden and stone carvings, planting trees, plants, shrubs and flowers and creating a pond.  The grant was used to hold workshops during the summer to teach people in the community about wood and stone carving.

To apply for this years "Make A Difference Grant" complete our application form.  Closing date for applications is Friday 9th June  2017.
