Following our recent service review and public consultation we are implementing a number of service changes across North Ayrshire, Ayr Town and Dalmellington.
Over recent years the travelling habits of our passengers has changed substantially, with increased online and out of town shopping affecting the number of people visiting our town centres. Work patterns are also changing with fewer people working 9-5, 5 days a week, in an office. At the same time our population is ageing, roads are becoming more congested and the relative cost of car ownership is falling.
In order to provide relevant services, that are sustainable and allow us to reinvest in new technology, vehicles, and our staff we must react to these changes and ensure that we have a network of services that are sustainable and viable.
The following services will be subject to the following changes:
Due to growing traffic congestion within Ayr and Prestwick we have increased the Journey times on the 2 service to improve reliability on our services.
From 4th June 2017 journey times have been changed on the service 10 to improve reliability
Due to growing traffic congestion within Ayr and Prestwick we have increased the Journey times on the 14 service to improve reliability on our services.
The 32 service is being withdrawn and replaced with the 25 service which will extend to Beith, Meadowside via Glengarnock Railway Station.
The 25 service will not serve Tesco.
After extensive monitoring the 52 service will now operate a half hourly service.
Timetables available on bus and on our website.
With the cancellation of the X37 service the 585 service from Largs at 0638 will now depart at 0618.
This will allow connections from Seamill and West Kilbride to the X36 due at Princes Street, Ardrossan at 0700 for those wishing to travel to Glasgow.
The first bus leaving Ardrossan will now be 09:20 & from Irvine 10:40.
The last bus leaving Irvine will be 14:35 & from Ardrossan 15:05
Journeys between 9:24 & 15:24 journeys on the X34 & X36 service will be reduced to a 2 hourly service giving an hourly frequency between Beith and Glasgow with services between 5:46 & 8:55 then 16:00 & 21:30 unaffected. The X34 & X36 will now serve Braehead from 9:17 leaving Beith until 15:50, then from 17:21 until 21:52.
All journeys will now operate via Fenwick.
11 Service - Ticket acceptance on X34 / X36
- North Ayrshire Express tickets will be available for purchase on, and use on, the 11 service between Ardrossan and Irvine. This will allow passengers who wish to transfer from the X34 or X36 to the 11 service at Kilwinning to do so without any additional ticket or fare being needed.
