Have your say on Forest of Dean bus services

The bus routes that we operate across the Forest of Dean and into Herefordshire haven't changed much in recent years.  However, our customers travel patterns have changed, and each year  we see people use the bus in different ways with some services seeing fewer passengers.

To respond to these changing travel patterns and reflect on customer feedback, we  will be adapting our network to the needs of the Forest community in 2019 and beyond.

We  ask for your feedback on our proposal for a new bus network to be introduced this summer. The map below shows where our buses will go and how frequently they will run. Timetables will be made once we've determined, with your feedback, where buses will go.

Key:

Purple Route

This route runs every hour between Coleford, Lydney and Gloucester. Purple   and green routes provide a joint service from Gloucester to Westbury-on-Severn and Coleford every 30 minutes. Purple and green routes connect without the need to change buses in Coleford, improving links between Lydney and Cinderford.

Green Route:

This route runs every hour between Coleford, Cinderford and Gloucester. Purple and green routes provide a joint service from Gloucester to Westbury-on-Severn and     Coleford every 30 minutes. Some daytime buses will run via English Bicknor rather than Worrall Hill. Purple   and green routes connect without the need to change buses in Coleford, improving links between Lydney and Cinderford.

Red Route:

This route runs every two hours between Cinderford, Mitcheldean and Gloucester. This service supplements our green   route for additional journeys between Cinderford and Gloucester, and our pink route between Mitcheldean and Gloucester.

Blue Route:

Have your say on Forest of Dean bus services

The new routes have already been influenced by previous customer comments about our network and connectivity across the Forest.  We ask for your thoughts and suggestions about our proposals, letting us know how our ideas may affect journeys that you can, or cannot, currently make by bus.

FAQs

Why are there no service numbers?

For the purposes of this consultation, we've tried to keep things simple by avoiding using old or new service numbers. The new routes will be numbered when the network launches in the Summer.

When will the consultation close?

We'd like to hear your comments by 31st March 2019.

When will the Forest of Dean services change?

We're planning to make our changes in the late July/early August 2019.

When can I see a timetable?

Once we've received all customer feedback, we will create the timetables. We'll share the full details during June 2019 online and in our timetable outlets.

I can't find my local bus route on the map?

We are only reviewing our commercial bus services, generally those that run at least every 2 hours during the daytime. Other less frequent routes, such as local shopper buses around Lydney, are run under contract by the Local Authority. These services will not be affected by our changes.

What will you do with our feedback?

All comments received will be read and reviewed to help us understand our next steps. We're open to making changes where we can, so the more feedback the better!

Will I get a response to my feedback ?

Given the number of responses we're likely to get, we can't promise to reply to every individual question. All comments will still be read and reviewed and we'll try to reply if we can.
