22X for a better journey

The new 22X fleet is part of a £1.9m investment to improve the buses for local communities in Barnsley, Rotherham and the Dearne Valley in 2016. 

22x wifi on board

Each of our new buses has Free Wi-Fi  so our customers can get on board, and get online!

22x up to every 15 minutes

Buses leave stand 18 in Barnsley Interchange and stand A3 in Rotherham Interchange every 15 minutes during the daytime Mondays to Saturdays. On Sundays they run every 60 minutes, making sure Rotherham and Barnsley stay connected! 

Unlimited travel on the full route of the 22X between Rotherham and Barnsley, this dedicated ticket gives customers using this popular commuter route even more savings on their travel costs.  

You can also travel on part of the route of the 222 (between Barnsley and Swinton, Golden Smithies Lane) the 226 (between Manvers Capita, Meadows Road) and the X20 (between Barnsley and Manvers Roundabout)
