To ensure the long term sustainability of your local bus network, we needed to make some changes, but were also keen to make sure your buses still take you where you need to go.
The majority of responses we received were in favour of the introduction of a 218a service which runs via Wentworth Road, Celandine Rise and Warren Vale. On Celandine Rise buses will run both ways round the estate. This means that most of the current 218 route will benefit from a combined half-hourly service.
One of the main points of feedback we received was that a service was crucial to the residents of Lime Grove and that removal of the 217 would have a negative effect on these residents, however due to the low numbers of passengers boarding this service, we were unable to continue with it as it stood. We have therefore rerouted the 106 to run from Swinton Railway Station to Parkgate and Rotherham via Lime Grove. This new service will be numbered 107 and will operate twice a day on Mondays to Fridays, maintaining a link from the Lime Grove area to allow people to still make journeys to Parkgate and Rotherham.
Timetables will be available online and in the interchange in the coming weeks.
