Tour de Yorkshire service diversions 3rd and 4th May 2018

From Thursday 3 May to Sunday 6 May the Tour de Yorkshire will once again take place. On the Thursday and Friday the race will be in and around South Yorkshire.

For customers travelling in and around Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster and the Dearne Valley on 3 and 4 May, there will be some disruption to public transport. Please check the information below to see if your service is affected.

Thursday 3 May

The last part of the Stage one race will finish in Doncaster. Whilst we are not diverting any of our services, there are likely to be some delays due to additional traffic in the area.

In Barnsley, preparations for the following day’s race will commence at around 8pm where some town centre roads will be closed.

All buses will continue to run with some minor diversions in the town centre.

Friday 4 May

On Friday 4 May, Barnsley will host the start of Stage 2 of both the men's and women's races.

In Barnsley there will be road closures in the town centre throughout the day, with additional road closures at the start of each race.

All buses will serve the Interchange for most of the day – customers are advised to board their bus in the Interchange as other roads are closed in the town centre.

In Elsecar Wath Road is closed from 8am to 4pm - service 66 will operate via Church Street to Elsecar Railway station.
