It's no longer a legal requirement to wear a face covering on public transport in England, Scotland or Wales. We do encourage you to wear a face covering in crowded spaces, if you can. For the latest travelling safely information for England, Wales and Scotland, see our Coronavirus page.
Passengers in South Yorkshire are the first in the country to benefit from pioneering, award winning Tram Trains that will provide a direct service from Sheffield City Centre to Rotherham Central and Parkgate.
Up to 3 services an hour travel on the Supertram network from Sheffield Cathedral to Meadowhall South / Tinsley, then proceed over a new section of track linking the tram line to the rail line. It then continues on to the national rail network to Rotherham Parkgate via Rotherham Central station.
There are 95 dedicated parking spaces for Tram Train customers within Parkgate retail park, and there is no charge for this parking. Please note that parking facilities outside of these dedicated parking spaces are subject to the parking terms and conditions of Parkgate retail park. This includes terms of maximum stay.
There are a range of tickets available in both the Sheffield and Rotherham fare zones that allow travel on the Supertram network, Tram Train and buses. English National Concessionary Travel Scheme (ENCTS) passes are also valid on Tram Train.
Please note that Railcards and general rail tickets are not valid for use on any Supertram services.
