• The 0.3% that didn’t operate is due to several factors, this can be due to weather or road conditions, traffic incidents and diversions, all out with our control, or vehicle breakdowns, driver shortages etc.

Our fares

We offer value for money fares and tickets, including standard single fares and unlimited travel zone tickets. During the year we extended a number of ticket zones to cover wider geographical areas and therefore reduce ticket prices for thousands travelling in those areas.

For students, children, groups and jobseekers and we accept U22 and Over 60 and disabled concession passes on board all of our services.

In October 2023 we scrapped our ‘peak’ fares, reducing the cost of a commute with our day return tickets now valid all day.

We work with several large businesses on bespoke ticketing schemes, providing discount to their employees and these effective partnerships have increased bus use locally, eased pressure on car parking and contributed to sustainability targets for the employers and for Stagecoach.

Our environment

We are rightly proud of our green status within Stagecoach East Scotland. We now operate 41 fully electric vehicles, 9% of our fleet is now operated by EV. As part of the ScotZEB2 funding consortium we have more on the way in 2025 too.

The electric buses introduced to Perth and Dunfermline mean that the full city network is operated by EVs, significantly improving air quality and comfort in these areas. We've also added EVs to the town services in Kirkcaldy and plan on introducing more EVs to our fleet later this year.

We fully comply with LEZ schemes in Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow with 70% of our fleet being Euro VI or above.

We used 11.7m litres of diesel at an average of 8.01 miles per gallon. All our drivers have completed a fuel-efficient driving course and onboard technology measures their ‘eco performance’, providing traffic-light style feedback for the driver. 171 drivers in East Scotland achieved Master Fleet Elite status, which recognises their exceptional driving standard through a prestigious global performance management programme.

We are involved in a free fleet recognition scheme, ‘ECO Stars’, which assesses fuel efficiency and emissions. We were awarded a 5* rating for the scheme and were the first operator to receive the high rating in Scotland and just the second in the UK.

Our community

We are a major employer in the local community and enable thousands of people to go about their daily activities. We work closely with employees to support their charity fundraising efforts and community events.

Stagecoach drivers raised over £2,100 for local charities after they completed a 3-day gruelling challenge. A team of six drivers from our Dunfermline depot completed the three-day physical challenge to raise funds for Dunfermline Foodbank and Andy's Man Club. The team took on the Ben Nevis climb, cycling from Perth to Dunfermline and walking from Leven to Dunfermline on our number 7 bus route. Read more about the challenge here. 

On Saturday 22^nd June, we attended the Dunfermline Children's Gala at Pittencrieff Park, giving away freebies and showcasing one of their Electric Vehicles. We also donated £1 to charity from every journey that was made into Dunfermline  on the day of the Gala, encouraging public transport to the event. A total of  4420 travelled into the city on the day of the Gala, and the donation was split between The Dunfermline Children’s Gala and the Peacock Sanctuary charity, with both charities receiving £2210 each. In partnership with The Rotary Club of Buckhaven & Methil we transported a group of children in the local area to visit Cairnie Fruit Farm for free. This provided local children, who may not ordinarily have got the chance to go on an excursion to a local attraction, to have a fun day out without worrying about entry fees or travel arrangements, thanks to The Rotary Club and Stagecoach. Our success

The second ever Stagecoach Excellence Awards took place in February 2025 with Scott Hall our Head of Commercial picking up the Employee of the Year award. Read more about Scott's win here. 

For the second year in a row our St Andrews Depot received top recognition in the St Andrews in Bloom gardening competition, winning the Stewart Meiklejohn Trophy for Best Open Space. Read more about the success here.
