We are proud to play a key role in the local community, helping thousands of people get where they need to be every day.

Through Enhanced Partnership schemes across many of the region's main urban areas, we work closely with local authorities and other partners to improve local bus services and create better journeys for our customers.

Supporting our communities goes beyond transport. We work alongside local charities and organisations and are proud to partner with Age UK, supporting their important work helping older people remain independent, connected, and supported in later life. 

Our customers

Our customers are at the heart of everything we do. Whether it's Steve travelling to a job interview, Moira making her regular trips to see her grandchildren, Finn catching the school bus, or Jasmine heading back to university, our services play an important part in everyday life across the community.

Our people

It’s our people who make our service special. They do more than make the wheels go round; that's why we have shared different 'Day in the Life' content of our Stagecoach South East colleagues. 

We employ 1,280 people, operate 373 buses, and over the course of a year, our buses travel 18 million miles on the roads of Kent and East Sussex - that's the same distance as going to the moon and back 38 times!

Our services

Our mission for every journey is simple: get everyone safely where they need to be, every day. 

If you’ve got a journey to take, we’ve got a service to help you make it. Our local buses are ideal for daily travel either for leisure or work. Even if you work a little further from home, our interurban services will help you get there.

When the British weather allows, our open top buses are the perfect way to experience the beautiful scenery of the Thanet coastline. 

When it comes to education, we’ve got that covered with dedicated school services and great value travel to colleges and universities. Plus, our Stagecoach Solutions team can arrange travel for events, businesses and rail replacement.

We constantly review our safety procedures and, as since the unscheduled arrival of Coronavirus, we've placed even more emphasis on cleaning. We already had a great cleaning schedule in place but we’ve taken it to the next level, focusing on the areas of the bus in which you’re most likely to come into contact with unwelcome germs. 

We’re constantly working hard to increase the quality, reliability and frequency of our bus services to offer car users a realistic transport alternative. Not only will this help with the usual congestion and car parking hassles, but it’ll also help the environment by taking more cars off the road. 

Our tickets and tech

We know that everyone travels differently, whether you use the bus every day or only occasionally, we offer a range of ways to plan journeys, buy tickets, and stay updated while travelling. 

Our Stagecoach Bus App allows customers to plan, track, and buy all in one place. The journey planner can search using familiar landmarks and destinations, not just bus stops, helping customers find the best route and next available buses more easily.

Customers can also use the app to track their bus in real time, making it easier to see when services are due to arrive. 

Tickets can be purchased in advance through the app or website, with mobile tickets stored on the app ready to show the driver when boarding. The app also helps customers choose the ticket best suited to their journey and travel needs. 

We also accept contactless payments and cash on board our buses, giving customers a range of payment options to choose from. 

Our buses

We operate a fleet of 373 buses across the region and continue to invest in our vehicles to support comfortable, accessible, and more sustainable travel for our customers. Our entire fleet is Disability Discrimination Act compliant, helping make bus travel accessible to as many people as possible.

New vehicles are introduced on some of our busiest routes, allowing more customers to benefit from modern and environmentally friendly buses. In February 2026, we introduced five electric buses to the Fastrack route in Dover, marking another step in our commitments to reducing emissions and investing in cleaner public transport.

Safety and reliability remain a key priority. Every vehicle is inspected by our engineering teams every four weeks and cleaned daily to maintain high standards for our customers. 

Our environment

It’s never been more important to do the right thing when it comes to the environment. That’s why we continue to tackle climate change and boost air quality with each new vehicle that enters our fleet.

It’s about more than just our environmental responsibility on the road. Our company initiatives have helped to cut buildings emissions by 21% and Stagecoach Group has been awarded the Carbon Trust Standard for measuring, managing and reducing our global carbon footprint.   

All of our buses are equipped with an eco-driving system called Green Road. The system gives drivers an indication of how they are driving via a green, amber and red warning device, reducing fuel consumption by encouraging better driving practices.
